CADVision offered a free, no-strings-attached Internet trial to everyone.

As part of the marketing effort, CDs were routinely given out to anyone who wanted one. Each CD contained one free month of Internet access — no strings, no catches. Everyone was welcome to try a variety of Internet applications without a commitment.
Free Trial by Mail
Every week CADVision targeted a number of communities and mailed every household a trial CD. Tens of thousands were shipped. They were very effective.
